Data from the image of the scanned ballot is dropped directly into the customized Excel spreadsheet. Here it can be reviewed and edited. Reports are generated by the click of a button.
Images of the scanned ballot are visible in a separate Excel window to the right of the main RECORDS worksheet. The ballot image is updated by placing the cursor in the desired row of the RECORDS worksheet (left) and clicking the (light green) ‘View’ button.
Clicking the ‘Review Invalid Votes’ button will step through all ballots in the RECORDS worksheet and identify any ballot with errors, at the same time displaying the questionable ballot in the right window. This makes it easy to correct errors.
In the example above the user would remove the ’1″ values indicating votes for Ferdinand Franks and Hugo Homes.
Clicking ‘Tabulation Report’ will generate a simple sorted list of the candidates per position and the number and % of votes they received.
