Checking for Duplicates

 

Depending on how things are set up, duplicates can be a big issue.

Duplicates can be created by scanning the form more than once, or by scanning a form with an incorrect Entry # that happens to match that of another entry, or by a judge bubbling in the incorrect judge's ID.

 

We have created a simple routine that checks for duplicates (based on criteria we mutually agree on). Our code will highlight duplicate records and group them together so they can easily be reviewed for errors.

 

On the RECORDS worksheet, simply click the button labeled <Mark Duplicates>.

 

Duplicates are then highlighted and sorted as shown below:

 

 

You should view the underlying images to investigate what might be the problem.  Select one of the duplicates and click <View Image>.  Then take any corrective actions necessary.
