Event Scoring Spreadsheet

The Event Scoring spreadsheet is where the raw data captured from the paper form via the BubbleScan OMR software is processed (graded, tabulated, ...).

It is an Excel spreadsheet and requires Excel 2007 or newer to run. We utilize Excel Macros to accomplish this as evidenced by the extension '.xlsm' of the spreadsheet. It is quite common for Excel to post warning messages when opening macro-enabled spreadsheets. You should always answer these messages in the affirmative (i.e. 'enable') to ensure proper functioning.

Pitfall:

Customer who receive the Event Scoring spreadsheet via email at times open it directly from their email program and then save the opened spreadsheet to their computer's hard drive. This works if you remember to 'enable' in response to any messages that might be coming up, but causes havoc if you don't.

Recommendation:

Save/download the spreadsheet to your hard drive first and then open it. This ensures the downloaded copy will work properly.

We recommend placing the Event Scoring spreadsheet in a new folder with separate sub-folders for your stored images - rather than your PC's desktop.

The spreadsheet is customized to your specific requirements. It consists of several worksheets (tabs at the bottom of the screen). Clicking on any of these tabs only displays the underlying worksheet. It is completely safe as it does not execute any macro code and therefore does not change or 'hurt' anything.

·           Grey tabs are for worksheets that are used as temporary helper worksheets by the spreadsheet. As an end-user you should not modify these worksheets.

·           Orange tabs are the configuration worksheets. Configuration of these worksheets is explained in greater detail later.

·           The blue tabs is where data from each scanned page is deposited and displayed.

·           The red tab is the report worksheet. We customize the summary reports to meet your requirements. Just let us know what you need.
