Answer Keys (for Tests)

It's probably a good idea to program the answer keys before the event.

You can do this manually on the KEYS worksheet, but a better way is to scan answer keys from filled-in bubble sheets.

Scan Answer Keys:

To scan an answer key, fill out the respective form - make sure to bubble-in the test version and give it an Entry# of "0" (Zero).

Then scan the form into the Excel spreadsheet (see 'Scanning into Excel' in the Operations section of this manual).

Double-check that everything scanned correctly, then click the button <Post Keys from Record>.

This process will step through all the records (i.e. scanned forms) in the RECORDS worksheet and for each record with an Entry # of "0" (Zero) it will post the captured responses as the answer key for that event and test version into the KEYS worksheet.

If it finds an existing answer key for the combination of event and test version, it will override that entry.

It will also sort all answer keys by Event # for easier management.

Manual Key Entry:

Go to the KEYS worksheet (click on the orange tab at the bottom of the screen that says "Keys").

Starting in line 4 begin entering the specific information for the answer key. A description of each field is shown below.

Field Descriptions:

Event #: This is the number printed on the paper form. It is also the Form ID.

Event: This is the name of the event. It's not critical that you spell it correctly/consistently or that you even enter it. The Event name will just help you to manage a larger number of answer keys better.

Version: In the case of FBLA (AZ) each test for each event can have up to 15 different versions. The version number will need to be bubbled in on the paper form (or included in a competitor-specific barcode).

The Test Version is optional.

If you omit the version on the answer key, then it needs to be omitted on the test forms as well.

Total Number of Questions: Enter the total number of questions the test consists of. For instance you may be using a 100 question answer form, but your test only consists of 50 questions. This figure is used to calculate the percentage.

Answers >>>: Enter the letters corresponding to the correct answer for each question. At this time we allow only one correct answer for a question. If you need this modified, don't hesitate to contact us. Customization is our business!
