Generating the Student Report

When all data is written into Excel, reviewed and essay scores are entered, you are ready to generate the Student Reports - from the worksheet called Student Report (red tab at bottom of the screen).

Our ACT spreadsheet has an additional 'ACT Report'. The ACT report will create a report similar to the official ACT report, using the standard ACT categories, UM, RH,.... The 'Student Report' uses the custom Question Types to analyze the student's score.

The scoring spreadsheet will generate an individual student report for each unique student ID it finds in the Records worksheet.

This report gives both the student and the instructor (and possibly a parent) a detailed review of the student's performance.

The Student Reports are generated by clicking the so named button.

You are then prompted for a specific student ID, if you want to just generate one Student Report, or if you want to generate Student Reports for all students, keep the default value of 'all'.

However, before generating the Student Report(s), you need to enter the test data in line 3

and decide:

1.What should be part of the Student Reports and

2.Should the Student Reports be printed, exported (PDF) or both?

to 1) The Student Report always consists of the Section report, which includes the student's responses, the correct answer in case the student's response was incorrect (orange font) or omitted (blue font), and a raw point summary for each of the nine sections of a complete practice SAT exam.

In addition, the Student Report can include a summary and analysis for the categories (Reading, Writing, Math) with scaled scores and a breakdown by (the optional) difficulty level. To include this Test Summary in the Student Report, check the box in line 50 labeled "Check Box to include Test Summary".

The Student Report can also include a breakdown by Question Type. To include the Question Type Analysis, check the box in line 78 labeled "Check Box to include Question Type Analysis".

to 2) As the SAT Scoring spreadsheet generates each individual Student Report you have the option to send each report to the default Windows printer or to export each report as a PDF file or both. This selection is made by checking the respective box in line 2.

The exported PDF file will have the format <test name> - <student name> - <student ID> - <date>.pdf

Current limitations of the PDF export function:

Please note that currently the spreadsheet will not override existing PDF files. This means that you must move or delete PDF files before re-generating the student reports. Also, you cannot specify where the PDF files should be saved. Currently all PDF files will be saved into the same directory that the SAT Scoring spreadsheet is in. And lastly, there must be a student name to go with the student ID.
