GRADING TESTS WITH BUBBLESCAN AND A COPIER
Many office environments have a high-quality copier that can easily scan the answer sheets with the student responses. Often it’s just a matter of figuring out how to do it. Please contact your copier-service provider if you need help.
We create a custom form for you. Just tell us how long the student ID should be, how many questions, how the answer choices should be labeled. You can even include your logo or company name. You will print the answer sheets on your local printer. If you want, you can pre-slug the answer sheet with the student ID and name, test section and date using our online utility.
After the students take the test, scan their answer sheets using your office copier. Our software will process the answer sheets best when they are scanned in black/white mode (rather than “color” or “grayscale” and at 200dpi.
The copier saves the files to a network folder. Each scanned page should be saved as an individual PDF or TIF file.
The BubbleScan OMR software runs on a Windows PC and monitors the network folder. As soon as it detects a PDF or TIF file it will read it. BubbleScan sends its data to the custom Excel file we created for you.
In the custom macro-enabled Excel file you can review the data, grade the tests, and generate reports according to the parameters you communicated to us.
